Waiting for the ferry to Arran, we spent a while on the beach at Ardrossan, skimming stones and exploring rock pools.

Arran....destination for many family holidays when our children were young. I was surprised at how many good memories came flooding back, although only hazy ones for Luke, who was 7 when he last visited the island.

Also very hazy today was the weather - we still haven't even seen the top of Goat Fell. Hopefully it will be clearer in the morning.
