The third kind
There are three types of Rowan tree on Wooler Common - lots of the native species (Sorbus aucuparia) with small, bright red berries; one Kashmir rowan with larger, white berries; and this one, with small, amber berries. It looks like Rowan 'Joseph Rock', described by one gardening website as a 'decorative tree of mysterious origin'. Personally, I much prefer the native species, and so do the birds. They don't seem to have touched the berries on the two ornamental trees.
