Egyptian Geese: flappy dance!
Another gosling blip (...). Large.
I couldn't resist though, because the goslings have now reached the "flappy dance" phase: they've been stretching their wings and flapping them more, but have now started actually practising for flight and getting lift. "Flappy dance" is so funny, because they flap their wings, and run and jump and bounce along; they look seriously excited, and surprisingly mal-coordinated. If the wind catches them, they get blown off balance, or sometimes get more lift than they anticipate and take off slightly, then land looking very surprised! It is wonderful to see; they'll be flying soon.
I got some wonderful pictures of them this afternoon, and found it hard to choose which one to blip. I chose this one because its feet are off the ground, but it still looks unsteady and off-balance. I'd managed to make them look far too graceful in some of my pictures...
I've also put a (grounded) picture of one on the ground on Blipfolio (here), because it shows how mature their plumage is, but how dainty they still look, and also has Clapham Common's pleasing "wild flowers" as colourful background bokeh. I say "wild flowers" because Lambeth pulled up the natural wild flowers, and then planted a whole load of new wild flowers... They're still beautiful despite that silliness.
