Always Remembered

I'm a Falklands War veteran and today I took part in a service where some of the family members of the 22 fallen from my ship (HMS Ardent) were presented with Elizabeth Crosses by Admiral Lord West at The Falkland Islands Memorial Chapel in Pangbourne.

The Elizabeth Cross is a commemorative emblem given to the recognised next of kin of members of the British Armed Forces killed in action or as a result of a terrorist attack after the Second World War.

Admiral Lord West was the Commanding Officer of HMS Ardent when it was lost in action on the 21 May 1982 with the loss of 22 of the ships company of 199.
