City nights
Eventually you ascend the stairs to the street. You think of Plato's pilgrims climbing out of the cave, from the shadow world of appearances toward things as they really are, and you wonder if it is possible to change in this life.
The alarm goes off at 5. I am already awake. I walk through a dark Swansea to the station and take my place in GWR luxury. Soon, I am invited to breakfast in the Pullman car. Smoked haddock with poached egg - very nice.
I make my way to Central Hall Westminster where Letitia and I go over the final slide deck for this afternoon. We make it even more final ;)
The session goes well and we even get some interest from an Edinburgh company. That's the best possible outcome for a conference presentation.
I drink a wine and network, but I'm shattered. I take a taxi back to the flat, visit Sainsbury's for salad and stuff, eat it in front of the TV, and pass out.
