I couldn’t fit the top of the bottle kilns into the photo but they’re a familiar sight in the Potteries.

Meeting in Newcastle under Lyme, which is rather uphill from Stoke Station but better that than the other way round as it makes for a very speedy trip back to the station. Billy Brompton’s little wheels never whizz round as fast as when they’re speeding down Hartshill Road.
