The Black Forest

A quick jaunt over to the other side of the Rhine into Staufen in Germany (we're only 30mns away from either Germany or Switzerland from my home city). The pic is from the Black Forest range which is an exact mirror image of the Vosges on the French side.

It's wine country there too, although everyone knows that the "real" Rieslings and Gewurtz are produced on our side of the Rhine ;)

Nice day for a leisurely walk up the mountain to a nice restaurant with typically German fare: bratwurst, schnitzel, kartoffeln. And back down to the village for a coffee. It's always nice to have incentives at the end of a walk :)
