Day #7
Walking along from the fort towards Makenzie beach today we thought we'd found our opportunity to get into the second property market. Then decided the refurbishment costs would probably take it beyond our means....
We began the day with a walk round this beautiful quiet village starting by the church and then up to the roads beyond. We had a good chat with a man and his wife. She had no English but chatted away and he chipped in with his few words...and we understood each other perfectly.
The houses lining the roads are pretty but we saw no-one else at all. It is a work day after all.
We tried to get into the Memorial Park by the salt flats on the way to Larnaca but it didn't seem to exist anymore so maybe I'll have to find another way round that one.
The beach was busy again today but the beds are well spaced and everyone has their own "territory". So another relaxing day! The walk at lunchtime was good too.
Back into Larnaca this evening as we haven't seen it at night yet. It was beautiful although it is evident the tourist season is coming to an end as the restaurants were quiet and there was plenty of room for anyone wanting a meal.
Back home after another good day. Last whole day tomorrow.....and that promises to be an exciting one...we are crossing the border into Turkish territory....
Posting a day in arrears yet again...
