I was quick off the mark to take this photograph of a dark cloud over the conference centre in Manchester where the Tory Party Conference is due to take place over the next week or so. Just as I took this further image a security guard in a hi vis jacket told me no photographs were allowed. When I asked why he said that it was because there is going to be a high profile event and that "the Police wouldn't like it." There were dozens of Police officers around who didn't seem in the least bit bothered.  I wondered aloud whether they would ban photographs for a Take That gig, as that would be "high profile" too. Maybe they are not in fact building a country that works for everyone - e.g. photographers.

Also in Manchester today there was a less high profile food and drink festival, which featured some imaginative signs. I don't know whether this wording, on the National Football Museum, has anything to do with either event.
