Montserrat and Pascual

I had a lovely lunch today in a Nepalese restaurant in Gracia with Nigel and his wife Mireia, fellow blipper Miralgato, and Jo and her '6 and a half' yr old daughter Paloma. Nigel, Jo, Philippa and I met doing our Cambridge DELTA qualification here in Barcelona in 2001 and have been friends since then and try to meet up altogether at least once a year.

The restaurant where we ate used to be a bar and had paintings on the window of famous Catalans in a bar setting. They must have been painted over 20 years ago as they all looked 'bastante joven'! Both Miralgato and I clocked the potential blips and here's my shot of two of them: Monserrat Caballe, who, along with Freddie Mercury sang the spinetingling theme song for the Olympic Games (Barcelona) and Pascual Maragall, the Bcn mayor behind the whole Olympic initiative. Note the current Nepalese owners' personalisation of the portraits!
