Parish Walk

Saturday 30th September 2017 (1862)

"It's raining, it must be parish walk day!" We've had many more wet walks than dry ones but it doesn't seem to put people off. We managed the walk Huddsbird and I planned last week, with the muddy cow fields omitted. It meant the walk was only 4.5 miles. The section through the woods was enjoyable, if a little muddy, then it was back along the canal. All of us missed a great photo opportunity when seven young swans decided to do a take off and landing exercise along the canal. I asked them for a repeat performance but they ignored me. As ever, we finished with a nice pub lunch. We've decided that if the weather ever prevents us from doing the walk we'll keep the lunch part in!
