The weir at Tong Park
In the winter of 2015-16 the Gill Beck carved itself a new channel above the old dye works and thus bypassed the little weir leaving it forlornly dry.
There's a lot going on in this corner: wild camping and illicit underage drinking in summer, carpets of Butterbur flowers in the spring, vivid beech leaves in the autumn.
Today's mushroom tally: Shaggy inkcaps on the cricket pitch, Charcoal Burners on the golf course, more Death Caps under the young oaks.
