Sophiatown
We took ourselves off to see 19 Days, the story of Steve Biko, in commemoration of it being 40 years since he died.
The exhibition was in this house, one of only two original Sophiatown houses that survived when the apartheid government completed their policy of segregation.
We decided to do the full tour rather than just the Biko exhibition. What an interesting place it must have been in its heyday, where folks like Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masakela and Dolly Rathebe found fame at the 1200 seater Odin theatre.
