Buzzard, Two Crows, A Kestrel

Our car club run was cancelled because of the bad weather forecast, as were other events but after a dampish start it was dull but dry. I went for a walk at Lodge Farm, saw a green woodpecker, some partridges and deer well in the distance.

It was lovely standing in the stiff breeze looking over the valley. Crows were harrying buzzards. I took lots of shots but was really too far away. The one above is the most interesting as it includes a kestrel as well.

Today's poem is Bright Star! would I were steadfast as thou art by John Keats. https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/44468/bright-star-would-i-were-stedfast-as-thou-art

Keats knew that he was dying when he revised this poem for his beloved Fanny Brawne. It's a declaration of love in which Keats wishes to be as constant as a star, probably Polaris. (Not a submarine cheeryoscuro.) ;)
