Surprise Trophy

Colby took part in the Punt, Pass, Kick & Run contest yesterday at the Skowhegan Rec. Center. They competed within their age group - the 8 year old group being the largest at 15 kids.

They began the day with the punt category, scoring as each child completed two attempts. This went on throughout each activity. I was very proud of Colby, as he cheered on his buddies in the line.

Later that day they held the trophy ceremony. Kaylee and I had BJ drop us off at Kaylee's soccer practice and the boys went back to the field for the ceremony. I was shocked when they returned with a trophy.

The smile on Colby's face was permanent... he was thrilled with his trophy and that he had taken 4th place. And, once again, I was proud of him - Codi placed 5th and was but a mere point behind Colby. He did not recieve a trophy for his efforts. Colby was very compassionate for him and told him that they both did a great job - it stinks that they didn't have a 5th place trophy.

Overall, I believe this is the turning point in Colby's football. He now has the confidence in himself and hopefully will shine on the field from here on out.

We are so proud of him for the little man he's turning into!
