Laid Back In Los Cristianos, Tenerife
We drove south and struck gold, a real sandy beach, unlike the gritty black volcanic stuff that these islands are largely composed of. Los Cristianos, and its neighboring resort, Las Americas, are probably awful when in season, stuffed with the migratory partying hoard. But at this time of the year they are sleepy enough, the aged (done to a turn) trundling along the prom on rented battery-powered trikes. The kind sunshine, the soft sand, the flip-floppy laid-backness (plus a wonderful seafood restaurant)... I warmed to the place, an oasis after our chilly pad up in the mountains. We decided we'd come back.
Here's a shot taken during our drive back north: WINGING IT
