Red Admiral Red Clover

I spent a lovely couple of hours today wandering the trails of the Van Vleck Nature Reserve watching birds, butterflies and of course lots of squeaking chipmunks.  The extra photo is of a cricket - another familiar sound, especially in the evening.

The red admiral and red clover could so easily have been on a walk in Scotland but it has been interesting how different my woodland walks in Connecticut have been to those at home.  Not a nettle or bramble in sight.
