Kowhai cap

I haven't taken a kowhai photo this year so here is the little cap that sits on the end with the pistil in the centre. The kowhai has a very long pistil and hence a very long seed pod.
I was happy enough with the colour, that deep gold but the star of the show now I see it up is that tiny curl of leaf in top left. Should have focused on that.
It has been like a summers day today- hot and little wind.

My back has come right just in time for blipmate and I to go on a little adventure. Tell you about it in a few days time.
