The Circle of Lebanon - Highgate Cemetery

We met up with Pete's eccentric cousin Sue and her, even more eccentric, friend Cecilia to do the tour of Highgate Cemetery.

On our way to meet up with them, our pleasant stroll up Highgate Hill was marred by a complete nutcase who followed close behind us, shouting abuse at no one in particular. In the interests of decency I will not relay his precise words here, although just imagine a whole paragraph of four letter words beginning with the letters "f" and "c" followed by 3 stars and I think you will get the picture.
We played it cool, ignored him and picked up our pace... However, a young man walking in the opposite direction seemed to think the abuse was directed personally at him, thus sparking off even more "effing" and "ceeing" but in stereo. Thankfully no punches were thrown and we managed to hot foot it away.

The tour of Highgate Cemetery West was extremely interesting. You can only visit this part of the cemetary if you go on the tour. The East side you can wander about and it is this side that has Karl Marx as one of it's most famous occupants.

Went back to eccentric Sue's in St John's Wood, got pounced on by the 4 dogs that she is looking after and had some food - which we had to cook, because Sue doesn't "do" cooking. We then had the joys of transporting a massive suitcase full of baby toys and a rather unwieldy high chair on public transport from St Johns Wood back to Whyteleafe!

You may not think it from the above but we did enjoy our Sunday very much. I just didn't have the energy to upload my blip on the day.
