Autumn Doormat...
Lola slept till just after 7am. Woo hoo :-)
Willie the painter and decorator is working at a cracking pace. All the woodwork and walls are now painted in our old dining room, which will become Alan's sitting room. He started wallpapering the fireplace wall today and I am so pleased with how it all looks. The wall paper is perfect. Alan chose blue and it will certainly be a blue room. Even the sofa is blue! But I am hoping it won't feel cold.
After much deliberation we have decided to wallpaper the main hall. It is a large and complicated space but we have found a wallpaper we like that we hope will cosy it up a bit. Thankfully Laura Ashley have a 50% sale on wallpaper at the moment as Willie told us today that we need 29 rolls!
The hallway has a very high ceiling with an open staircase and I don't envy the task Willie has ahead of him. I suspect some scaffolding may be required. I will make myself scarce that day as too nervous to watch although it might be a good blip :-)
Lola has had a busy day interspersed with deep snoozes. Lots of playing in the garden and excellent side walking with the lead. I think Shona will be impressed when she returns on Thursday. Went to the park late afternoon and she had great fun there. Met lots of dogs (need to work on her barking at them though!) and their lovely owners who were all making a fuss of her.
Had planned to do some online Lola shopping today (needs a proper dog bed and a new crate) but there was a problem with the Sky fibre connection at their end, so no internet from early afternoon till a short while ago. Too tired to do it now.
