Pudding Sponge Cake
My ladies have changed their lesson to the afternoon instead of the morning, which is great as I now have a whole block of time for myself instead of a couple of useless hour and a half slots at either end.
I call them my ladies instead of my students as I feel quite guilty calling myself their teacher. While I do clarify the odd grammar or spelling point every so often, no-one involved is under the illusion that the main point of the gathering is anything other than an extended coffee and cake session at which most of the chat happens to be in English. The great thing is, they even bring the cakes!
Today it was the turn of the patissier of the group to bring the sweet, so it was quite a fancy number. A genoise sponge base with a kind of creme caramel pudding layer on top, finished off with fresh whipped cream. Indulgence on a plate!
Especially after all those donuts yesterday!
The only bad (good) point was that a large filling fell out this morning, and after an emergency dentist visit, I had to wait 2 hours until the injection wore off before I could eat it...,
