Harvest Mouse
A cold day today for our monthly U3A bird walk with not many birds around. At the half way point are the Natural Surroundings gardens, nursery, shop and cafe, perfect for a warming cup of tea. They also have a harvest mouse breeding programme, and I can't resist looking in on them. This little chap was only about the size of a finger joint - sooooo tiny and cute. I don't know if they were babies - they were certainly scampering around having fun. The chalet they're kept in is dark and they are incredibly quick, so most photos are unrecognisably blurry, but I thought this would do.
