Wentworth Woodhouse

The latest superlative walk had its initial visit today, along with Andy, Bonnie, Bruce, Chris and Martin.  It was a splendid, mostly countryside, stroll around Wentworth, South Yorkshire and nearby Elsecar. This photograph shows two superlatives in one place - Wentworth Woodhouse is the largest private residence in the UK, (larger buildings such as Buckingham Palace are not privately owned) and the east front, shown here, is the longest country house facade in Europe, at 606ft (185 metres) long.
