Muscovy Ducks
I had to find out a bit about these odd looking ducks. The female is on the left with less red on her face. They have a knobbly bit on the bill and lumps on the face, clawed webbed feet and are prodigious poopers, often startling themselves as they squirt ! They don't quack but chirp and hiss and hunt insects. Named from the Muscovy Company ,London,1555, who transported them from Peru and Paraguay to England and France. One of the oldest domestic fowl in the world, kept by the natives at the time of the early Spanish explorers. These were on the banks of the river Ouse.
