Many hours later...
We were up at 4, drove to Tonbridge, caught the train to London Bridge to arrive for 7am. Chris went down at 11.30 for 5 hours of surgery. We got to see him around 8.15. He can wiggle his toes and chatted a bit. He was exhausted so we left once he was settled. He's in a side room so should sleep well tonight.
Thanks for your messages and well wishes. We appreciate the love :)
Martin and I filled our day with a ride on the river boat to see the flood barriers. We checked out the local food places purely as research for when Chris has an appetite given the reputation of hospital food. Some very tempting options nearby. We're on the way home now, we should be home around 11. Yawn.
