We must never forget...

When visiting Krakow for the first time it is almost obligatory to visit the two camps of Auschwitz and Auschwitz-Berkenau, not because it is a must see attraction of the tourist trail but more to respect the memory of the millions of people killed by the oppressive regime led by Hitler. There are many famous and iconic images of these two camps but I thought that this image of a personal tribute, left by a visitor on one of the wooden beds, conveys far more than anything else I could capture during the day.

I would like to say that these camps serve as a reminder that the world needs to stand up against criminal, evil leaders but unfortunately we have already seen many more examples of genocide since the discovery of these camps.

How many more killing sprees need to take place before we do something as a world to stamp out tyranny?
