Bassenthwaite by moonlight
Had a tip that the Northern lights could be visible from Cumbria last night, so went to the shores of Bassenthwaite lake at 11pm to see if I could get lucky. Almost full moon made it easy to see my way around, and I took a few shots like this of moving clouds and the lake by moonlight. I gave up just after midnight, pleased with the moonlit shots, but with no sight of the northern lights.
I got a text this morning from my same friend, saying they were at their peak between 2 and 5am. Looks like I'm going to have to give up sleep completely!
