I was going to surprise my friend Kate with this silly card on Friday - before she and her husband headed off on their birthday spa weekend.

However, life intervenes sometimes... and her daughter has been taken ill and she's had to rush back to Blighty and cancel the planned pampering.

I'm really hoping all will be well. 
And that she'll get to enjoy belated celebrations at some point very soon.

Life really is what happens when you're busy making plans...

Anyway, I'm sure it'll make her smile when she finally gets to see it!
