Magic!

As I'm going to be skyping a lot the coming months I decided I needed a phone for skyping. When I just sit behind the computer it doesn't really feel like an actual phonecall. Preferably of course I wanted to have a wireless phone to avoid the sitting the behind the computer (the whole point of the phone). This however is not as easy as you'd hope when you are using a mac.

When I was in the store I discovered the "tiptel cyberBOX 100" which allows you to switch your DECT phone between the normal phone network and VOIP (in my case Skype). The box says it's Windows only, but they have a chart in the store thay says Mac will work as well. So the adventure begins.

The Mac drivers are supposed to be on the site of "tiptel" but there's only a specific Skype version to download. So download that, installed and it's doing nothing. Under Windows you need a Skype Manager to make all this magic happen but there doesn't appear to be one for mac.

After searching google and finding nothing (very curious I thought - untill I found this thing is sold under a dozen different names by different companies) I decided to check out the Belgium site from the company and low and behold they had a mac Skype Helper app. Tried this ... still no luck. But used the name of this app and found the info the company themselves should have added on their site

And now there is Skype over my DECT phone magic!!!
