Over My Shoulder

Early doors for the PT then the world was my lobster. Just loved the light on the feathers here.

First call to RSPB Highnam Woods where for the first time in years I have  been able to get into the car park. Obviously the undesirables have left. However, the pond level has dropped by half and looks neglected with no bird table and no feeders up. Over time there, I have got the most amazing shots of birds I wouldn't have normally been able to get but it is bereft of  not just bird activity but animals too. Highnam is renowned for nightingales and work there seems to be progressing on that front but to the detriment of other things.

Totally still and standing by the pond or ex-pond I was amazed to see my boot was being used by a Southern Hawker as an oviposit drop. 'Hmmm buy your own boots', I thought hastily switching my camera settings.

Drove onto the Forest of Dean which with the weather was divine. Spotted this cormorant in the water from the other side of the pond and hot-footed it round the other side. Job done.
