Quad bike

Today was torrential from start to finish. I went to Buttermere for a walk around the lake, but it was just too wet to even get out of the car. On the way home I passed this field near Loweswater. The farmer was attending to a sheep in need, while the rest of the flock huddled together. 

I mused on how quad bikes had transformed farming since they were introduced in the early to mid eighties. It's not so long ago, and yet it seems as if they have been with us for ever.
