What is the point of this?
Soooooo................ today we did one of our 'bus route walks'. For those of you who don't follow our Blips regularly our 'bus route walks' involve getting on a bus and going to the terminus and then walking home via the most interesting route we can find.
This afternoon we jumped on a number 11 bus and went to the terminus at Hyvots Bank. The first part of my walk involved following the Burdiehouse Burn down to Ellen Glen..................
….............I got let off my lead as soon as I got to the path that goes alongside the burn. It was a lovely sunny day and Ann was walking ahead of me when all of a sudden she turned around and realised that I wasn't following her. She assumed I was in the burn (but couldn't see me because of all the vegetation) but after I didn't appear after a couple of mins she started to panic get worried................. And then she spotted me.....................
I wasn't in the burn. I was still on the path. And do you want to know what I was doing? I was gobbling up fish, chips & bread. OMG, there was sooooo much of it that I didn't know which bit to eat first. Ann was miles quite a distance in front of me so in the time it took her to walk back and capture me, I'd managed to gobble up quite a lot. Fish, chips & bread is very, very, yummy.
Ann was angry. She wasn't angry with me because she said that what I was doing was just dog behaviour but she was furious with whoever had dumped all the fish, chips & bread. There was so much of it, that it hadn't just come from two or three people dropping their fish suppers on the way home after a drunken night out. This was serious 'fish & chip' dumping so it must have come from the local fish & chip shop last night. Or maybe not even the 'local' fish & chip shop. It could have come from any old fish & chip shop because the path by the burn was right next to the main road.
…............Whatever??....................... this is not what one wants to be confronted with on a so called lovely dog walk. Ann was just happy that we didn't encounter any big fat rats??!!
Anyway the rest of the walk past uneventfully. After I'd followed the Burdiehouse Burn and did a bit of 'on my lead' walking along mains roads, I walked all the way along the Hermitage of Braid Valley and did loads of splishing and splashing and sploshing.
This afternoon I walked 4.9 miles and I have had fun, fun, fun!!!!
