magical mushroom
A walk in the farm garden this morning, looking at the beautiful detail of dew drops on foliage, I almost literally stumbled upon this remarkable, tiny fungi , so delicate it seemed more magical than real.
Researching it on the internet, it came up as being a a pleated inky cap mushroom, also known as a Japanese parasol, and it only lives briefly until the sun's rays catch it, whereupon it shrivels back into the soil. This one was clearly freshly grown overnight, but only the size of a 10p coin, and barely an inch tall. But by shooting this from a low angle, the camera actually in the grass, I liked the way this tiny mushroom looked so tall and fresh.
Btw, yesterday was my first 'blip less' day after 1002 consecutive blips. It felt like a day off (I did shoot a possible blip but it wasn't strong enough really), but this whole blip for thing is now quite a habit, and I couldn't resist this one...
