In case of emergency

Amongst other things today we visited Ramla Bay on the north of Gozo. ( By the by, it is the location for a vineyard that produces some lovely wines).

Today, however, we were doing the touristy bit and enjoyed the warm wind coming off the ocean and, for me, a walk along the red sands.

Everywhere there there signs about the dangerous currents and undertows. And there were these bouys either strung out or in clumps, like this one,, so that if you were in difficulty you could grab onto them or the lines between them.

After the high winds recently the waves were active. While some, under the watchful eye of a lifeguard, we’re venturing into the water - which was a lovely temperature and warmer than the pool - I refrained.
