Poor Old Ash Tree

This was quite a shocker today on my road.  It's an unpaved road and is heavily forested as is a great deal of the state.  There were many ash trees in this particular section of the road and none of them looked very healthy in foliage, but wow the trunks of this tree really did look beautiful.  The textures of the bark and the unblemished insides exposed spoke of many years of growth.  It was right at the edge of the road and I suspect the town decided to make it more passable.  Extra with the Bittersweet vine that was growing on its trunk, bittersweet indeed.  Hopefully the remnants will warm someones home or be put to some other good use.
