Leaving Whitby

Day 8 of the Cleveland Way, from Whitby to Robin Hood's Bay. This was our shortest day for walking, and quite misty for much of the time. We could hear the sea below us, but rarely see it.

The sun did break through once or twice, but I have kept to the mood of the day with misty views. (Best seen full size with the black surround.)

It was quite surreal at Rob Hood's Bay to see the faint shape of an ice cream van on the beach emerging from the fog. The ice creams were welcome, as the air was warm.
