Feels harder work again this week, after a month of flying. C'est la vie... Struggling to make appointments - always a fine balance between "if you'd like a tasting" and basically "please let me come"...! You get free tasting of new wines, free gin glasses, and no obligation to buy - when I am in the area anyway and not chocka-block with appointments, more than happy to maintain relationship, let the customer have the gift, and add to my list of their favourites / fine tune my understanding of what they like... but customers often don't believe that... I never make my customers feel pressurised, and those who have seen me a few times know that, but lots of my "customers" are new as I have a new area (PE10-12 and PE21-25 postcodes), and even many in "old" area have never seen me... I know I just need to be patient and keep smiling, but 5 hours phoning for 5 appointments feels like a grind (hence the Spanish red to help smooth the way). Ah well.
