The Deceiver

Yesterday we had the Amethyst Deceiver today its best mate The Deceiver- Laccaria laccata (a nonsense Latin name if ever there was one - lacquered with lacquer?) found on a gloriously sunny morning walk at the Old Lodge nature reserve on the Ashdown Forest. After honey fungus this was probably the most numerous fungi present.
