Laboral lattice

The main entrance to Gijón's 'Laboral City of Culture'.

Went to visit mother-in-law, recovering from a serious operation. Bright and smiling as ever despite the circumstances and extra difficult as she cannot speak since her stroke.

Afterwards I walked down the road to the 'Laboral'. Originally built as a sort of polytechnic during Franco's time, then more recently (from about 2007) repurposed as a cultural centre.

It includes a theatre where I once had the good fortune to see Capercaillie play, a music conservatory where my daughter practiced violin for a while and studios of the local TV station.
