Sunday Drive

The weather forecast advised of a sunny day ahead. We walked the dog, hung out a washing and decided to go for a drive.

The best bit was a delicious lunch at Mhor 84.

Unfortunately the weather deteriorated the further we got from home and any chances of an autumnal landscape photo diminished. Also, on the homeward stretch the road is closed pretty much between Balloch and Drymen so a lengthy detour was required.

The worst part of the day however, was the behaviour of some of the cyclists on the road today around the village. It appeared that there was a time trial on and as we were walking through the village this morning  I witnessed two cyclists almost cause an accident in the Main Street. In the first incident, cars heading to Kinlochard had stopped to let vehicles from the other direction pass. A cyclist decided that he would skip through almost colliding with the oncoming cars. The second incident involved a camper van. The cyclist was not happy that he couldn't get passed the camper van in the Main Street and was shouting at the driver to get out of the way. There was nowhere for the van to go. The worst however, was as we were driving over the Duke's Path. On two occasions the same cyclist attempted to overtake our car. He was shouting at us because he couldn't get in front of us.

I do not have a beef with cyclists in general but today did make it clear that events like this are not suitable for our roads.
