Life through the lens...

Hebden Water

What great weather for our walk.
12 of us started out from the National Trust Midgehole car park.
Except we parked at the bottom one instead of the top one. Wondered where the rest of our group were!
However fortunately B our leader, came down to find us.

We walked up to Shackleton Moor. Passed two interesting medieval waymarket stones. ( see extra collage). They are called Cain and Abel, and are along an old packhorse route.
Then it was over the moor where we saw this grouse ( see collage) Couldn't believe we could get so close to take photos. It just never moved.
Along to Walshaw, where we stopped for our lunch. How lovely to sit in the warm sunshine eating our sandwiches.
The way back took us along Hebden Water, and through the woods. Quite slippery in parts due to the rain, and fallen leaves. Not an easy path up and down over boulders, and on a steep hillside.
Only one person slipped. MrC! Fortunately not hurt.
Must say we both felt quite tired when we got back to the car.
However really enjoyed the walk.
The sunshine though the trees and on the water as beautiful.
So decided on my main blip photo, with a collage for extras.
Hope you have all enjoyed the weekend too.

Sorry MD didn't have time to call.
