At the end of the day

Gavin was up early this morning, walked Murdoch, and then set off for London to participate in the Royal Parks Half Marathon. Yes he did say his marathon days were over and he would never run another marathon again, but this, he reminded me, was only a half marathon! There was a team of people doing it from his office so he decided to join them and make it a bit of a corporate event.

I spent the morning preparing lunch as after the marathon we had lunch at our house. I did some chicken and sausages (not your ordinary sausages but wild boar and chorizo ) on the BBQ and I made salads - quite a few of them - quinoa with pomegranate and feta, baby potatoes, asparagus wrapped in parma ham with parmesan,  baby spinach leaves with beetroot, goats cheese and walnuts, and tomato and mozzarella. I cheated with the pudding and bought a lovely meringue and hazelnut vacherin cake.

After everyone had left I realised that I did not have time to take a photo today - it was nearly sunset and I looked out the window and saw this terrific sky!
