Up Close
We always try to make a visit to the horse trials at Weston park. They take place spring and autumn and often have international stars competing.
Today seemed very low key compared to those previous occasions. Lots of commentary referred to novice classes; if this is novice, I'm impressed. It did mean there were lots of competitors and they were being sent around the course with with some frequency. Plenty of photographic opportunities. We were both taken by this fence, where we could literally stand right next to it. For once it was the wide angle zoom needed, rather than the telephoto. It gave an opportunity to capture the surrounding parkland and sky rather than my normal approach of isolating rider and horse at a fence (see extra).
