Marais de la Riviere aux Cerises
Monday
Roger was at work today, so I explored on my own. I had been to the nearby town of Magog on my two previous visits to Bromont. Magog is located at the head of Lake Memphremagog, a long thin lake which extends south, across the border into Vermont. The last two occasions, I walked on the multi-purpose trail I discovered, which starts along the lake and extends out into the country. This time, in my googling ahead of time, I discovered a new place to explore - Le Marais de la Riviere aux cerises - a beautiful area, around the river, with a variety of habitats, served by a network of paths and boardwalks. It was just a picture under the blue sky, with the leaves on the trees beginning to turn. I loved this view with the church spire rising above the fall colors. I then walked a little of the multi-purpose trail, and had a short wander around the town and found a cafe to have a cup of coffee. When I returned to the hotel, I took Roger's kindle out onto the terrasse, and enjoyed reading in the late afternoon sun, waiting for Roger to return from work.
