Lucky Discovery
Gladiolus flanaganii, a dwarf species that usually flowers around mid-summer. Dormant through the winter it survives happily in the dry compost in a pot under the greenhouse bench. Re-potted and watered in spring and off it goes. The year - I forgot. Discovered the pot late July, still bone dry. The corms were shooting and planted in fresh compost they have grown on untroubled by the extra long rest giving as good a display of flowers as ever.
Monday - Admin day. Household stuff this morning. Almost finished the annual report on the Crocus collection this afternoon. Happy with that.
