Jewels!

At some of our WI meetings there is a competition, and usually there are several entries. Tonight the competition was a Vegetable Necklace!!
So here are the only two entries - carefully and imaginatively made, I'm sure you will agree!
We had a very amusing and interesting talk from a third generation local baker. We learnt that almost all their flour is locally grown and free from additives. The recipe for their (unusually delicious) whole meal loaves is one of the original ones, and the secret is in the slow fermentation process and the fact that it is 100 per cent wholemeal. Most "wholemeal" bread is in fact only 80 per cent wholemeal flour.
Someone had brought a couple of large boxes of apples for our sales table. Our baker bought the lot! They will now be used to make a real Dorset apple cake!
