Matera at Dusk

On our first day in Puglia at the heel of Italy we travelled to the World Heritage site of Matera, which has been inhabited for thousands of years starting with cave dwellings which still exist.
After spending most of the day exploring the Sassi area of the city we moved to a vantage point for sunset which didn't materialise. However as the lights came on the city took on a magical appearance.
We started the day at our base in Giovinazzo photographing the sunrise in the harbour and on the way to Matera stopped off at some ruined farmhouses. Shown in the Extras.
