October Hues

I spent my childhood in maple tree country, with glorious changing leaves in the fall. Here in coastal Virginia, however, fall colors are more subtle... just little bits of gold, magenta, periwinkle... unnoticed unless one is really looking for them.

Quilts are in my background, too. That must be why I often have the urge to piece pictures together, like a quilt.
