Oat Crunch Biscuits
This is a recipe from Delia Smith's Frugal Food, one of the first books I bought when I started having to learn how to cook for myself. The recipes are not only thrifty but very tasty and include favourites of mine like Tomato and Anchovy Quiche and Rabbit In Cider. I lost my original copy during one of the many house moves during the years that followed, so was very pleased to find that it's been re-issued.
Today I fancied some home-made biscuits - these are like flapjacks, but more crisp and crunchy, especially if you make them with jumbo oats. Less than 30 mins from start to finish - perfect for a quick sweet treat.
