Lake Joseph, Muskokas

We zigged this time. We usually zag. That is to say we holidayed in Port Carling in the Muskokas instead of our usual drive through the Muskokas and stay in the Haliburton Highlands just to the east. This is looking west  on Lake Joseph from the main dock at the Sherwood Inn, a resort built in 1939. We haven't stayed there before but we'll be back. The grounds are beautiful, the staff, service, food, and accommodations were fabulous. Not far away is the port town of Parry Sound - hometown of hockey legend Bobby Orr. We had a walkabout there for a couple of hours and sat by the water and watched float planes land and take off.
